If Invisalign treatment is suitable, the next step is to create a treatment plan. It begins with data collection, which involves taking photos, X-rays, and scanning the teeth with a 3D scanner.

 

Once the treatment plan is approved, it takes about 2-3 weeks to produce and deliver the aligners. When the aligners are ready, an appointment is scheduled for their setup.

 

During the treatment, you need to come in for check-ups every 4 weeks. Each aligner is typically worn for 1 week before switching to the next one - this gradual process moves the teeth into the desired position. It is recommended to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day. They are only removed when eating, drinking and brushing your teeth.

The treatment duration can range from 4 to 15 months.

At the end of the treatment, worn edges on the front teeth are fixed, and retainer wires are placed on the back of the front teeth to keep the teeth in position. Post treatment, retainer aligners are made to be worn at night for the first 6 months.
